Seemingly infinite power and classy, posh presence are just two of the pillars on which the Mercedes-Benz brand is built. If you drive a Mercedes-Benz or are a Mercedes-Benz enthusiast, you know this. There's substance beyond the glitzy surface of Mercedes-Benz, however that few recognize. In part, that's because Mercedes-Benz doesn't go around bragging about it. So, Mercedes-Benz of Northwest Arkansas, located at 2400 SE Moberly Lane Bentonville, will do the boasting for them.
A third, lesser-known pillar on which the Mercedes-Benz brand stands is their unfaltering commitment to the environment. While we simply do not have the room here to take a deep dive into all of their initiatives, we'd like to at least give you a general overview.
Let's begin with the Mercedes-Benz Think Green Team, a group of eco-conscious Mercedes-Benz employees dedicated to raising awareness about the environment. Each event/effort is focused on assisting all Mercedes-Benz employees contribute to, and enjoy, greener days now and ahead. But really, the efforts expand beyond that. For example, in Q4 2011, the Mercedes-Benz Think Green Team is hosting their second-annual coat and blanket driver to benefit People to People; and they're sponsoring the Giving Tree.
How else does Mercedes-Benz shepherd the environment? Let us count the ways...
1) Mercedes-Benz represents the first green luxury dealership across the globe to earn a distinguished U.S. Green Building Council certificate.2) After painstaking research and development, Mercedes-Benz launched two hybrids - the S400 HYBRID sedan and ML450 HYBRID SUV - two years ago and also a zero-emission fuel cell, just last year
3) Mercedes-Benz offers a Flexible-Fuel-Option auto that can be run on a blend of renewable ethanol and petrol - the Mercedes-Benz C300
4) Mercedes-Benz has gone from introducing the first diesel to the market to introducing the first clean diesel - BlueTEC Clean Diesel. Defying the stereotypes that diesel-powered cars have to be loud and dirty, Mercedes-Benz BlueTEC Clean Diesel autos are both clean and quiet.
5) Mercedes-Benz has created the Mercedes-Benz ShadeFund Entrepreneurs to help fund 12 small business owners committed to environmental values and superb artisanship over the course of the next two years
