Mercedes-Benz Reports Increase in Sales

September 6, 2010. Sales of Mercedes-Benz vehicles continued to increase in August, the German manufacturer has confirmed.

The brand posted double-digit growth for the tenth month in a row.

Worldwide sales in August were up by 22 per cent, while deliveries to customers around the world amounted to 81,000 units.

Since the beginning of 2010, in fact, Mercedes-Benz has sold 735,400 passenger cars, an increase of 16 per cent from the figure recorded during the same period last year.

More specifically, Mercedes-Benz saw a 37 per cent increase in sales in the UK, as well as a 96 per cent rise in Denmark.

"The growth recorded by Mercedes-Benz in August marks a continuation of the current positive trend," commented Dr Joachim Schmidt, Executive Vice President Sales and Marketing at Mercedes-Benz Cars.

Mercedes-Benz boosted sales in nearly all the regions the manufacturer operates in, according to Dr Schmidt, who added that he expects sales to continue to develop favorably in the coming months.

"Worldwide, we want sales at Mercedes-Benz to grow at a double-digit rate in full-year 2010," Dr Schmidt said.

Meanwhile, the German car maker is set to unveil the new Mercedes-Benz CLS at the Paris motor show in October.
